Privacy policy

How Sabre Random Search handles data on your iPhone.

About this policy

Sabre Random Search is a standalone iPhone app published by Sabre Protective Security Ltd. This policy describes the app’s data handling and distinguishes it from contacting us or visiting our website.

Privacy enquiries: stuart@sabresecurity.info.

Offline operation

The app operates offline without accounts, servers, advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. Normal app operation does not transmit data to Sabre or collect entrants’ personal details.

There is no entrant history, identification or reporting. The app does not create a record of people who have been selected.

What is stored on your iPhone

  • App settings and current result: the selected search percentage and one unacknowledged result are saved locally. This is current operating state, not a history of entrants or selections.
  • PIN protection: a salted PIN verifier and failed-attempt lockout information are stored securely in the device Keychain. The verifier allows the app to check a PIN without saving the plain PIN. The plain PIN is not saved.

These records support the app’s settings, current selection and administrator access protection. They are not sent to Sabre during normal app operation.

Retention and deletion

The search percentage remains locally until changed or the app’s local data is removed. One unacknowledged result is retained until it is acknowledged using NEXT PERSON; the app does not retain a list of previous results.

Deleting the app normally removes its app-container data, including its locally saved settings and result. Offloading the app is different from deleting it and can preserve app data. Device backups may also retain data under your iPhone’s backup settings.

Keychain credentials may remain after uninstalling the app. The PIN verifier and lockout information are held separately from ordinary app data. Reinstalling is therefore not a reliable way to remove the PIN or recover access. There is no in-app forgotten-PIN reset.

Sabre does not receive these local records through normal app use and cannot remotely delete them or retrieve your PIN. Contact us if you need guidance about local data or access; do not email your PIN.

Support emails and website visits

If you voluntarily email support, your email address, message and any attachments are sent through email services and received by Sabre so we can respond. This is separate from the offline app. Please avoid including entrants’ personal details or unnecessary sensitive information.

Opening this website also uses an internet connection. Your browser communicates with website hosting services and any external resources loaded by the page, such as fonts. This is separate from normal offline app operation; the app’s lack of analytics or tracking SDKs is not a statement about every website or email service.

This app-specific policy does not set company-wide privacy practices or a fixed retention period for support correspondence or website-service records. For questions about information you have sent us, contact stuart@sabresecurity.info.
